Municipal Benchmarking Initiative: Cities Working Group

This peer based learning has been structured through the establishment of City Working Groups for each of the six initial modules included in the MBI. City Working Groups are ideally attended by officials directly involved on a day-to-day basis in the area of work included in the module. Ideally these working groups meet twice a year to discuss performance in terms of the module and share knowledge and best practice. Two Working Groups meet in parallel. There is already a well-established City Water Managers’ Forum, which consists of the eight metropolitan municipalities plus Msunduzi. The MBI Cities Working Groups comprise the same nine municipalities. Three Cities Working Groups have met to date:
